RE100

Overview

RE100 is an international campaign aimed at replacing 100% of the electricity used by businesses with renewable energy sources (such as solar, wind, bioenergy, and geothermal) by 2050. The campaign began in 2014, led by 'The Climate Group,' a multinational non-profit organization based in the UK, and the 'Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).' It is being carried out through voluntary participation of global corporations rather than government or international organization.

As of 2023, approximately 400 companies worldwide are participating in RE100. This initiative includes prominent companies such as Google, Lego, Apple, Meta, etc. Korean companies also began joining from 2020, and around 30 companies have completed their membership.
